LG INFINIA 50PK750 Review
The LG 50PK750 is a 50in plasma TV with a borderless design. It is very attractive and has a good image quality to boot. Overall, it is a good panel for a reasonable price.
Design and Connectivity
The Plasma TV LG 50PK750 uses the “borderless” design that we first saw on the LG 47SL90QD LED TV. It does not have an embossed plastic bezel instead – a single sheet of glass covers the entire front. While this is a headache when it comes to fingerprints, that’s the LG 50PK750 easy to clean with a cloth. The TV also has an attractive, relatively thin outer edge. We did not like the big black stripe on the 47SL90QD, but the general appearance of the new 50PK750 is more streamlined. It also has a swivel base – great to see on a fairly large board.
The glass panel on the front of the LG 50PK750 is very shiny. It looked fantastic when we had passed us a few minutes to polish and it looks on TV winning industrial design step, but has the disadvantage of the unfortunate pick any reflections. It’s great when you watch TV in a dark room with the lights off – and that’s what we’ve always recommended – but if the sun behind you or an overhead fluorescent lighting, you may notice the odd reflection or two.
We were surprised to see only three HDMI ports on the back of the LG 50PK750 until we found the fourth conveniently placed on the TV side, along with two USB 2.0 ports for DivX, MP3 and JPEG files. We think that for most consumers, two HDMI ports enough – one is for connecting a Blu-ray player and more to connect a set-top box like a TiVo or Topfield. After four ports, the LG 50PK750 keeps in line with competitors from major brands such as Samsung and Sony.

BUY LG INFINIA 50PK750 NOW TO SAVE MONEY WITH DISCOUNT!The 50PK750 take LG’s Internet access Netcast features. There are a whole range of content on the service, with YouTube still an excellent host for improvised movie-watching, and integrated BigPond Movies is useful if you do not have a TiVo, Internet-connected Blu-ray Disc Player or Media Center PC.
The LG 50PK750 has only a 12-month warranty as standard. While this is not worse than competitors like Sony, we would really like to have at least a two-year warranty. When buying a new television, warranty length is a primary concern for consumers – that is why extended warranties are so popular – so we would encourage to consider LG a superior warranty to its competitors.
Image quality, color and contrast
If one of the distracting glossy screen and disappointing guarantee almost every other aspect of the LG 50PK750 impressed us.
The LG 50PK750 is a plasma TV, so it has some advantages over LCD TVs (for example, Kogan 1080P40) and even LED TVs like the Sony NX800. The most important of these is the ability of plasma bright white next to dark, Inky Black – a merit of the plasma-panel network of individual cells, which control their own light output display.

BUY LG INFINIA 50PK750 NOW TO SAVE MONEY WITH DISCOUNT!The LG 50PK750 takes a little tweaking to optimize its image, but once this happens, it offers excellent image quality and smooth gradations contrast. You can choose from eight picture modes, but we found the THX Cinema preset generally best if the pictures in a dark room. In the user setting, we decided to slightly lower brightness, while a slight bump was saturated color and contrast video look like a punchier. We left edge for almost all the ads intact – as it is, view the LG displays 50PK750 good levels without over sharpening edges and high contrast points.
Contrast are excellent. In our demanding The Dark Knight Blu-ray test footage, the intro sequence of the sharp points of white light on the LG 50PK750 without the good levels of detail we saw displayed in darker areas of the screen. We do not have any significant bloom or light bleeding after adjusting brightness levels. When playing Speed Racer and WALL-E, we found the picture with smooth gradations and vivid high levels of fine image details.
Energy
The LG 50PK750 is energy efficient for a plasma TV. She claims a four-star rating energy that most games of similar size LCD televisions (although LED-backlit models are more efficient). We found its maximum energy in the THX Cinema mode preset to about 350 watts in bright scenes, covered with darker scenes around the 200W mark. This is an impressive number, the witness significant benefits of LG’s 50PK750 in energy efficiency compared with plasma TV, which just a year ago.
Conclusion
LG’s 50PK750 is no wallflower. The only shortcomings are the super-glossy screen and mediocre stock – apart from the fact it is an excellent all-round performer in terms of image quality among others. We also love the design. If you do not want to shell out for a Panasonic plasma or Samsung LED, give some serious consideration to LG’s plasma.

New LG PX950 plasma
LG yesterday announced the PX950 series of plasma TVs, the first 3D TV will be on the market with new 3D displays THX certification.
The series will be available this month in the traditional two LG plasma sizes – 50 and 60 inches – for $ 1,999 and $ 2,999, and this is a premium of at least $ 200 to $ 300 more than the company not equivalent 3D plasma TV, which are rated good PK950 series.
As the PK950 and many high-end plasma and LCD TV from LG the PX950 is also 2D-THX-certified, meaning that there existed a series of THX describes what a severe test for image quality and signal processing.
According to THX, is the certification for the 3D, the first of its kind and includes hundreds of new tests and thousands of data points. “THX Certified A 3D-TV must be capable of providing consistent stereoscopic images with accurate color, and clean processing,” said Rick Dean, senior vice president of THX, in a statement.
In person, the PX950 Demo LG showed us was from a choice of “Under the Sea” IMAX Blu-ray, which are in the current bundle LG’s included along with two glasses. The 3D effect looked good and had minimal cross-talk – have a prominent artifact for all 3D TVs that we seem to have tested than doubled ghostly images to objects on the screen. Of course we are concerned to test it side-by-side in our laboratory to get a better idea of how they receive in comparison with other 3D TVs such as Samsung PN50C8000.
We spoke with THX’s Image Technology Director, Kevin Wines, said the test for the crosstalk, is an essential part of 3D’s THX certification. He quoted also hold off-angle 3D performance, the ability to synchronize between the glass and the TV and color and brightness (luminous flux) criteria as the other components. How to make 2-D THX spec, the company was not the precise criteria required to meet the 3-D TVs to the public.
Measurements for the THX tests are taken, required by each lens of the active shutter glasses for 3D viewing. Wines says, his glasses on the performance has a major influence on the prevalence of crosstalk. He also expressed skepticism that have approved a standard for 3D glasses-upon soon – so that LG working with 3D glasses Samsung TVs, for example.
Unlike competing flagship Panasonic 3D Plasma series, the TC-PVT25, LG’s PX950 will contain no glasses. The required spectacles LG, model LG-AS100, are part of the package or available separately for $ 179 per couple (although Amazon currently has them for less than $ 90).
LG’s his 3D-compatible LED-based LCD, the LX9500 series, in June, reached early on the THX-certified 3D was published. According to THX, his process calls for different criteria for LCD and plasma-based TVs and projectors.
In contrast to the LX9500 LCD, plasma of the PX950, a 2D to 3D conversion system, a feature also found in most competitors’ 3-D models. In our testing of these models, we have transformed the 3D image in inconspicuous usually found. If we wines, whether the conversion system was also tested as part of the 3D process THX’s, he asked quickly, a clear ‘No’.
Apart from 3D, are the specifications of the PX950 Series is basically the same as that of the PK950 plasma. According to LG, we obtain a sample PX950 review in the next few weeks.

LG 42PJ350 Plasma HDTV Review
Regardless of the strategies of other manufacturers, it seems that LG have decided that Plasma is not dead, not yet. The Korean manufacturer is known for the production of high quality, attractive television sets at affordable prices, a reputation they have acquired for their plasma TVs and LCD models whose known. An excellent example of the former is the LG 42PJ350, a 42-inch plasma model, which retails for under 450 – an incredibly low price for the quality of the offer.
There are a few reasons why LG has managed to keep the price of 42PJ350 so low. The decision for a resolution of 720p instead of 1080p feature is one of them. That might deter people who are looking for the best available HD picture, but they are probably a larger budget anyway. The 42PJ350 is unashamedly a budget TV and LG have something of a calculated risk with the decision taken. In addition, the comparative lack of HD detail is largely balanced by the 600Hz processing power. One of the biggest drawbacks of LCD technology is the motion blur, something that made me not like plasma TVs, and the 42PJ350 is no exception. Whether you are a fast-paced film, or the latest video game, the nerve-jangling 42PJ350 not let them down when the picture starts to accelerate pan.

BUY LG 42PJ350 NOW AND SAVE MONEY WITH OUR DISCOUNT!Connectivity Limited has held down the cost for the TV. However, although the sport 42PJ350 less sockets and connections, as most high-end models, it still has the same connections as most plasma TVs in this price class, with a USB port thrown in for good measure. The two HDMI ports, two SCART sockets and VGA port is to be expected, but not the USB port. USB is often the area of budget television, in particular plasma models, missing their inclusion here is a pleasant surprise.

BUY LG 42PJ350 NOW AND SAVE MONEY WITH OUR DISCOUNT!With such a low price tag you think LG have held back on the sound quality – but you would be wrong would be awarded. Most televisions have a budget of 5 watt sound systems, but the 42PJ350 has two 10 watt speakers with a lot of power behind it.
Ultimately, it seems that by waiving a resolution of 1080p, LG could pull the rabbit out the hat in all other areas of the 42PJ350. Costing is as little as a cheap package tour of the LG plasma TV 42PJ350 still a great bargain from LG.
