  The 42-inch LCD Vizio truLED XVT423SV is a serious option if you are looking for an affordable 42-inch HDTV with a nice set of Internet applications. The 1080p TVs with 240Hz refresh rate provide superior image quality. The TV has a glossy, black bezel and sits on an oval stand nonswiveling. Black speakers are visible under the TV on each side of the stand squat neck.

  Most of the connectors on the back so that cables are plugged in parallel positions on the screen, but a few of them will keep lines perpendicular to the screen. The XVT423SV has a gold mine of ports – a HDMI connection and three USB ports on the side, and four HDMI ports on the bottom. Also on the bottom of the device, a PC input and a cable/antenna connection.   The remote is a bit too thick for a comfortable over the long term, but that’s the price with internal keyboard. The slide-out keyboard is a bit too large to hold comfortably, and it is not the easiest thing to type on: The keys are small and close together, and rubbery.

  Despite branding themselves as “fully occupied”, the XVT423SV comes preloaded with a normal number of web applications. Hitting the internet shortcut button opens a menu (at the bottom of the screen) of the available applications: Amazon Video, Facebook, Flickr, Netflix, Rhapsody, TV Guide, Twitter, Vudu, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo News, Yahoo Weather and Yahoo Widgets, plus Web videos.

  One of the best features of XVT423SV is that Internet applications such as Netflix and Amazon Video treated as a separate entrance so that a variety of picture controls available to you agent. Options cover different picture modes, backlight, and some advanced controls, but not contrast or color. Since the other TVs in the test group offer virtually no control over the image in the video streaming that is a great feature.

  Preset picture modes include Standard, Movie, Game, Vivid, football, golf, basketball, baseball, and as well as a custom mode.   The range of perspectives on the XVT423SV is acceptable: moving to both sides does not affect the image quality much unless you’re watching something with a lot of dark colors. Colors are usually bright and lively, and the movement continues to spit out dark blacks. The picture becomes darker as you move, but this is only a problem if the image on the screen is too dark to start with.

  Speakers at the XVT423SV are not large, and Vizio gives you some controls to improve the audio. You can adjust the balance, turn the speaker on and off, and turn TruSurround sound (which is far less depth than other simulated surround sound, which we have heard).

  The XVT423SV’s 67-page manual is comprehensive, but not as good as some of the others we have seen presented. The Vizio XVT423SV is fixed above the average compared to the 40 – to 42-inch competition – if not outstanding at anything. For this money, I can wholeheartedly recommend this HDTV.

  The Vizio XVT553SV is a pleasant surprise from the budget of the rule-oriented manufacturers. It is a good television, and even more surprisingly – it is a pretty cool TV too. find it’s all the Bells & Whistles on a high-end TV from Samsung or Sony would own and some surprises got. Now if they only do something about it that exterior design.

  The Vizio XVT553SV no attractive TV, by most reckoning. It is not the ugliest we’ve seen in the technology was. Vizio selects only, not so much on design. From the front you can see how much bulky plastic is used. It is simply not in touch with modern TV design. The back of the Vizio XVT553SV is usually plain, black plastic. All ports are gathered in a corner. It can be difficult to reach these ports again, but because the TV panel does not rotate on the base.

  

  The Vizio XVT553SV is not very thin, at least not by modern LED-backlit standards. If they wanted to, they could shed a few inches to have you here.   The core video performance is a bit less clear. The color performance is among the best we have seen, and the viewing angle is really impressive for an LCD display. However, were the black level and contrast the worst. Our test procedures require us to shut off features such as auto-dimming, to get the exact performance. If the auto-dimming enabled, the black levels fall significantly, but there is a nasty halo effect around objects with high contrast.
