Vizio XVT553SV LED LCD HDTV Review

The Vizio XVT553SV is a pleasant surprise from the budget of the rule-oriented manufacturers. It is a good television, and even more surprisingly – it is a pretty cool TV too. find it’s all the Bells & Whistles on a high-end TV from Samsung or Sony would own and some surprises got. Now if they only do something about it that exterior design.

The Vizio XVT553SV no attractive TV, by most reckoning. It is not the ugliest we’ve seen in the technology was. Vizio selects only, not so much on design. From the front you can see how much bulky plastic is used. It is simply not in touch with modern TV design. The back of the Vizio XVT553SV is usually plain, black plastic. All ports are gathered in a corner. It can be difficult to reach these ports again, but because the TV panel does not rotate on the base.

The Vizio XVT553SV is not very thin, at least not by modern LED-backlit standards. If they wanted to, they could shed a few inches to have you here. In terms of functionality, is one side clear and the other has to choose a few ports and the “Jag Whee” controller. The Vizio XVT553SV comes out of the box with the stand-assembled and on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, the base does not allow the Panel swivel back and forth, which always annoys us a bit. It is not hard to do, it only costs a few cents extra. So do it!

The Vizio XVT553SV has only one button all over the TV, which meant power, volume, channel up down and input. It is the “Jag Wheel”, which is one of the stupidest feature names we’ve heard in some time must be convened, and in no way describes the functionality. When you press the button, a small menu on the screen prompts you to select the option you would like: power, volume, scroll down, etc., then press to select and then scroll back often, your choice to adopt. The process is unnecessarily complicated and time consuming. It’s really a question, or to reinvent the wheel when we had to start a very good bike. Six separate buttons really so terrible that Vizio to sit around until they had invented this? The remote control for Vizio XVT553SV is large and, unlike all the TV remote control, you have seen. Vizio has traditionally positioned itself as a discount-TV producers, and it is clear that design put into the background. Compared to the leading 55-inch TV from Samsung, Sony and the like, is the Vizio looking bulky and cheap. There are a lot of plastic around the bezel that makes the Vizio look behind the times.

The Vizio XVT553SV showed a real strength of the viewing angle performance. It extends as far as 86 degrees, total (43 degrees from center on both sides), before the defeat of a substantial part of the contrast ratio. The LG was similarly well, while the Sony and Samsung were quite narrow. All four LCD displays, the LG and Vizio are are even more impressive.

The Vizio XVT553SV creates a large, broad, diffuse light when an ambient light hits the screen dead on. If the light is coming from one angle, it is far less is disturbing, so you can some other arrangement for the TV and light until you no longer try to disrupt it.

The Vizio Vizio XVT553SV is probably the first really impress us. It is a large 55-inch screen for a reasonable price, and it is loaded with great features: built-in WiFi, an excellent selection of streaming content, a large surface area and a remote control with full QWERTY keyboard.

There is the tantalizing prospect of features to come as well. The Vizio XVT553SV has Bluetooth, but it seems not every application for them right now on the remote control (both IR and Bluetooth). The TV also has this aggravating three USB ports that serve absolutely no function now. You better plan something big for many USB ports, but here we are not holding their breath.

The core video performance is a bit less clear. The color performance is among the best we have seen, and the viewing angle is really impressive for an LCD display. However, were the black level and contrast the worst. Our test procedures require us to shut off features such as auto-dimming, to get the exact performance. If the auto-dimming enabled, the black levels fall significantly, but there is a nasty halo effect around objects with high contrast. To give you the whole story, even if we enable re-tested with smart dimmer, so you see the pros and cons of the function.
